A British tourist has allegedly being raped on the tourist island of Crete by a taxi driver.
The victim, 43, claims she asked the driver to take her back to her hotel before she was driven to a secluded area and raped.
The taxi driver had picked her up from a bar in the town of Hersonissos in Greater Malia in the early hours of the morning.
The woman was medically examined after the alleged incident on May 31.
After the woman gave a description to local authorities, a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.

He has denied all allegations and claims the encounter was consensual.
He has been released pending further enquiries.
This comes as another Brit tourist was allegedly raped in India by a man who offered her a massage.
Police confirmed that the 32-year-old suspect was part of a group which illegally offered massage services near the Arambol beach in North Goa district.
The area is popular with international tourists, who flock to the golden sands for mild waves and eateries.
The suspect, arrested on Monday, is believed to be a former librarian.
A Police official told local media: "We have contacted the police station concerned to get his past records. Currently, he is not working as a librarian."
Police stated that a complaint has been lodged by a middle-aged British woman, who is on a trip to Goa.
