Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky has given Boris Johnson a "shopping list" of weapons and military hardware to fight against Russian forces.
The Prime Minister assured Zelensky during their daily call that the weapons would be flown to Poland ‘within hours and days’ to then be driven across the border to Ukraine.
Such weapons will be in addition to the 2,000 Next Generation Light Anti-tank Weapons the UK have already sent.
Mr Johnson told his Cabinet on Monday: “It is becoming clearer with each day that Putin had made a colossal mistake believing that the guns of his tanks would be garlanded with roses when instead the Ukrainian people had put up a fierce resistance in defence of their homeland.”
Today, the Prime Minister landed in Poland and Estonia where he will meet key eastern European allies, speak to NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg as well as greet British troops serving in Estonia which shares its border with Russia.
Ahead of his arrival, the Prime Minister said the UK would "continue to bring maximum pressure to bear" on Russia as fighting escalates and fatalities grow.
