Blackburn fire: 10 fire engines race to business park as entire factory gutted by flames

A massive fire has broken out at a business park in Blackburn overnight and is still raging this morning.
As many as 10 fire engines rushed to the scene at Shadsworth Business Park.
Pictures from the scene show an entire factory gutted by the flames.
The warehouse’s walls are shown crumpled after the roof of the building collapsed.

A statement from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We have 10 fire engines at a warehouse on Shadsworth Business Park.
“Firefighters are working hard to contain the fire and prevent it spreading further.
“A number of roads are closed in the area and we encourage you close windows and doors if you can see or smell the smoke.”
An earlier update said: “We are receiving multiple calls about a building fire in Blackburn.
“We have eight fire engines at the scene, just off Haslingden Road, Blackburn.”
According to fire authorities, the fire broke out at a warehouse on Haslingden Road in the Sett End Road West area.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue confirmed they were alerted to the blaze around 8.30pm.
Local reports suggest the fire broke out at the Dinner Lady vape factory.
A representative from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service told LancsLive that firefighters are expected to remain at the scene until at least tomorrow morning.
Blackburn police also issued a statement warning that a number of roads would be closed while authorities deal with the fire.
They said: “Please be aware we are currently dealing with an incident on Shadsworth business park.
“As a result, Johnson Way, Sett End Road and Haslingden Road are currently closed.
“We’ll provide an update once cleared and thank you in advance for your patience.”
