A scam warning has been issued as millions of Tesco shoppers are at risk of falling for a scam which could cost consumers a small fortune.
Taking to social media, consumers are alerting the British public of a fake advertisement on Facebook which is offering shoppers a £45 discount.
Posts on the website reportedly from previous Tesco workers are telling people to take advantage of a free £750 voucher but the supermarket is reminding people that this is fake.
One X user shared an example of some of the fraudulent deals being promoted on Facebook.
They shared: "People who are on Facebook be wary of this Tesco voucher scam. It is not issued by Tesco and contains links designed to gather your personal details."

These scams were commonplace on social media sites in 2022 with customers being promoted potential giveaways.
However, Facebook users are being told to look out for the tell-tale signs that they could be getting targeted.
One of the fake Facebook pages promoting this scam is "Tesco fans" which does not have a blue tick badge attached.
As well as this, the posts are badly written which indicates it is not a legitimate source.
In a statement to Which?, the supermarket outlined what customers need to be aware of to avoid being frauded.
A spokesperson said: "Tesco UK only has one Facebook page - facebook.com/Tesco. Any other page is potentially a scam and social media users should not click on them.
"Our social media scams page [on its website] provides some helpful tips on how to spot and avoid scams online."
According to the country's biggest supermarket chain, it has reported the Facebook page offering free Tesco vouchers to customers.
It has also been confirmed that Tesco does not offer free vouchers on social media in this way.
Facebook users are encouraged to report any potential fraudulent scams to the social media giant.
