Tesco is offering double Clubcard points for every £1 purchase
Tesco has announced that shoppers will be able to earn double Clubcard points for the first time in over a decade.
From Monday January 8 to February 25, the supermarket’s customers will get more from their in-store purchases, filling up at Tesco petrol stations and eating at store cafés.
The supermarket giant’s loyalty scheme allows Clubcard members to usually get one point for each £1 spent.
However, until the end of next month, shoppers will get two Clubcard points for every £1 that is spent at Tesco.
Clubcards help shoppers save money PAAround 20 million customers of the supermarket chain who take part in the scheme are expected to benefit.
During the shopping event, 10 billion Clubcard points are projected to be collected by Clubcard members.
With the Tesco Clubcard, the supermarket offers members the opportunity to take part in the Reward Partner scheme.
This allows customers to use their Clubcard points by exchanging their vouchers for up to double their value to use at over 100 participating partners.
Customers could get money off subscriptions to streaming services, meals out at restaurants and family holidays.
Emma Botton, the customer director for Tesco Group, described this latest development as the “best value for customers”.
She said: “Many of us could do with a little boost in January so we are delighted to bring over 20 million Clubcard members the added joy of double points for the next seven weeks.
“Whether you want to save up your Clubcard points to use towards a special moment like a holiday or simply for money off your shopping or fuel, it’s our extra thank you to Tesco Clubcard members for shopping with us.”

A change to Tesco Clubcard rewards points came into effect yesterday
TescoThe supermarket’s customers will get their vouchers in their next two Clubcard statements either in February or May.
Alternatively, Tesco shoppers can choose to redeem vouchers instantly with the faster service on the supermarket’s Grocery and Clubcard app or online.
The double points initiative will come to an end at Tesco supermarkets from February 25, 2024.
Furthermore, points will not be awarded for non-qualifying products that are sold at Tesco supermarkets.
These include tobacco or tobacco-related products, lottery, stamps, prescription medicines, infant formula milk, gift cards, saving stamps, in-store concessions and for some purchases of alcohol in Northern Ireland.
