Santander UK will close the doors of two bank branches in Milton Keynes for good today.
The bank is due to open a Work Café branch in their new Milton Keynes head office, Unity Place 200 Grafton Gate, Milton Keynes MK9 1UP on Monday, September 11.
Following the opening of this Work Café branch, Santander UK made the decision to close two existing Milton Keynes bank branches.
The Midsummer Place branch will close as will the Grafton Gate East branch in Santander UK’s previous head office.

At 0.2 miles away, the new Unity Place bank branch is within walking distance from the Grafton Gate East location.
Customers who used the Midsummer Place branch will now find their closest Santander branch, Unity Place, is 0.8 miles away and a ten-minute journey by bus, the bank said.
A Santander spokesperson said: “Santander is committed to providing a national branch service and we continue to invest in our branch network for local communities.
“We are opening two new branches this month – Work Café branches in Milton Keynes and London – and we are investing further in upskilling our workforce to ensure customers get the help they need in branch, over the phone, and online.”
Santander has closed four other bank branches in 2023, shutting locations in Sheffield, Derby, Dartford and Manchester.

Santander said as more customers are opting to use online, mobile or telephone banking for their day-to-day banking, they’re visiting branches “much less”.
The bank said customers can also use the Post Office for cash deposits, withdrawals, balance enquiries and depositing cheques.
