Thousands of HSBC customers are experiencing problems with its banking app.
More than 4,000 people have logged reports on outage monitor DownDetector.
Some HSBC customers have reported being unable to view their bank balances, while others say they cannot make payments or access their accounts.
One frustrated user wrote on X: “Please help me. Urgent payment that needs to be made – when can I expect the app to be working again?”
Another added: “What’s up with the @HSBC_UK mobile business app? None of us can access our account.”
A third said: "@HSBC_UK Your mobile app and online services are down, and online payments I make are being declined. What's going on?"
The problems appear to be affecting customers across the country, with most complaints focused on mobile banking.
Around 62 per cent of reported issues relate to the app, while 30 per cent involve online banking.
Many customers say they are met with error messages such as “err03” when trying to log in, instead of being able to see their account details. Others report messages like “Sorry, your information isn’t available right now. Please try again later.”
Even when some users manage to get through the login process, they say their account balances and transactions are missing. About eight per cent of complaints specifically mention problems with login authentication, suggesting the issues go beyond simple access failures.

One user posted: “App is not working at all, accounts are not showing. Very concerned right now.”
Another wrote: “What’s going on with my mobile banking right now? I was expecting money in. I’m going on holiday and the app is having issues.”

Some customers also pushed for clarity on when the problems would be fixed. “Do you have any idea when the issues on the app today will be resolved?” one person posted.
HSBC has acknowledged the disruption and apologised, saying: “We understand some customers are having issues accessing banking services right now.

The bank confirmed that branches remain open for cash withdrawals and urged anyone unable to visit in person to contact telephone banking or reach out via social media for support.
