Administrators for the high street beauty chain said it was no longer viable to keep all the stores open due to stock shortages and operating costs

Bodycare has announced it will shut an additional 30 outlets across Tuesday and Thursday of this week, according to an announcement from the company's administrators.

These closures will affect 130 employees who face redundancy as their stores cease trading.

The chain, which entered administration on September 5, will be left operating 85 shops following this latest round of closures.

Administrators from Interpath cited inventory shortfalls and the financial burden of maintaining high street locations as factors making it unfeasible to continue operating all 115 stores that had remained open.

The Lancashire-based retailer's financial difficulties stemmed from mounting operational expenses and insufficient funding, which damaged relationships with suppliers and created product availability issues.

When Interpath took control of the business ten days ago, the firm immediately announced 32 shop closures that eliminated approximately 450 positions.

Nick Holloway, Interpath's managing director and joint administrator, expressed gratitude on Monday for the commitment shown by Bodycare employees.

"We'd like to express our sincere thanks to the hundreds of dedicated Bodycare staff who have shown such professionalism since our appointment," he stated.

The administrators confirmed they would maintain operations at the surviving 85 locations whilst exploring options with potential buyers.

"We will continue to trade the remaining 85 stores while we remain in discussions with interested parties with the aim of preserving as much of the business as possible," Mr Holloway added.
