The right hairstyle, an effective skin care regime and a few strategic makeup hacks can work wonders when it comes to making a woman look younger than her age.
However, all the anti-ageing tools in the world cannot disguise a bad wardrobe. A style enthusiast shared the ageing style mistake ladies over 50 should avoid at all costs.
Serena Wilkerson Butler (known as Style With Serena on YouTube) advised middle-aged ladies to stop wearing clothes that are too oversized.
The fashionista said: "I don't care how old you are - most of us don't want to look any older than our age.

"But it's not just about looking older, it's about keeping current and fresh. No matter what your age, you want to look relevant, stylish and fresh."
The "most prevalent style mistake" Serena has noticed women making is wearing clothes that are too big.
Serena said: "This is such an epidemic. People, for whatever reason, feel like they need to have clothing that is too big or oversized to camouflage the things that they don't like.
"Maybe they're self-conscious about their tummy or their hips - whatever the case may be - and so they dress in clothing that is too big.
"This actually has the opposite effect: hiding behind clothing that is too large just makes you look larger.
"And let's face it, it also makes you look sloppy - and sloppy is frumpy. You don't want to do that."
Rather than wearing oversized garments, the style enthusiast advised women over 50 to opt for more tailored pieces.
Items that fit properly are more flattering and will accentuate your figure.
According to Serena, wearing tops that are too big can be particularly problematic for ladies with a larger bust.
Wearing a large T-shirt, Serena said: "When you have a larger bust like I do, wearing an oversized shirt like this that just hangs instantly makes you look bigger.

Pick clothes that 'enhance' rather than 'hide' the body

"It creates a tent effect where it just hangs straight down from the widest part of your chest and it gives the illusion of you being a lot bigger.
"People can't see what's going on behind that big shirt so it appears like you fill it up even if you don't."
Now this doesn't mean that women over 50 need to start wearing skin-tight clothing that showcases "every lump and bump and flaw".
It just means that ladies should opt for items that "skim" the body and "are neither too tight nor too oversized and baggy". Clothing should "enhance" rather than "hide" the body.
Serena concluded: "This is a universal tip no matter what your size is - don't dress bigger than you are.
"Go to any stylist, any fashion expert and they are going to tell you the same thing: do not hide behind baggy clothing. That makes you look frumpy, kind of messy and at our age it can make you look older than you are."
