The cereal brand said it would become a "home staple" ahead of its launch next week

Kellogg’s has launched a brand new edition of its wildly popular granola line of breakfast cereal.

The new line will be coffee and chocolate flavoured, offering mocha fans the chance to start their day off with the taste of their favourite hot beverage.

Its official name is the “Barista Edition Chocolate Mocha Flavour”, a fusion of cereal and coffee beans with milk chocolate swirls and almonds.

It is high in fibre and does not contain any artificial flavours or colouring.

Senior brand activation manager at Kellogg’s UKI, Rui Frias said it was the “right step” for the company.

“We know coffee is one of the UK’s favourite morning drinks, so it seemed like the right next step for us to look into how we could combine the crunch of our Granola with the delicious flavour of coffee.

“We’re proud of our tasty new Barista Edition and delighted to welcome it to the Crunchy Nut Granola range with the launch of our Chocolate Mocha Flavour.

“We are sure this will be a breakfast staple across the UK that coffee lovers won’t be able to resist,” he continued.

Elsewhere, a spokesman said: “Coffee and breakfast is a natural partnership – and our Barista Edition has been influenced by Europe’s café culture and the continental love of coffee and cereal.

“Our coffee tastes are all different, so our team of developers spent months sampling different types of coffee to try and get a flavour that was well rounded and just right for everyone.”

The cereal will be released in Waitrose next week.

It follows the release of the companies salted caramel-flavoured crunchy nut cereal in December.

Kellogg’s also expanded its Coco Pops range with its Coco Pops Chocos.
