The right haircut can be completely transformative, framing your face expertly and taking years off of it. The wrong haircut, however, can be extremely ageing.
According to a hairstylist, one way women can take years off their age is with the addition of bangs. Glam Girl Gabi advised getting a fringe cut if you want to look younger over 50.
Gabi acknowledged that the way you style your hair is very individual. Indeed, "there are no set rules on how you should decorate yourself".
However, "if you feel like you're totally stuck", there are some simple tricks women can employ to take years off their look.
The expert explained that a fringe makes your face appear smaller and disguises fine lines

One of Gabi's "go-to" hairstyles for women who want to look "fabulous over 50" is the fringe. Bangs can be a chic addition to any haircut and work wonders when it comes to framing the face.
The hairstylist told women over 50 they can add a fringe to "any haircut they personally love".
She said on YouTube: "Whether this is a short cut or a long cut, what a fringe does to a face is it makes it look smaller.
"It camouflages lines on the forehead and softens out any fine lines around the eyes - if, and only if, cut properly."
There are so many fringe types out there and it's important to do your research before having one cut in. It's also crucial you go to a professional hairstylist who knows what they're doing.
Gabi continued: "There are so many variations of fringes that you can play with. You can make them airy and mostly see-through.
"You can side-sweep them and keep them denser. You can have them come forward more or really open them up."
According to the expert, one particular style of fringe is excellent for hiding crow's feet, the wrinkles that appear on the outer corners of the eyes.
Curtain bangs, which open up in the middle and get significantly longer at the sides of your face, are great for disguising this sign of ageing.
But two types of bangs might have the opposite effect and make you appear more aged, warned the expert.

GETTY IMAGESShe said: "If your fringe is too square and blunt or too short, it may be unflattering.
"Bangs that are strong, blunt and short draw a tonne of attention [to the eyes] and can really accentuate any of the lines and puffiness in that area that naturally happens as we get older."
Of course, she encouraged women who love this type of fringe to go for it, but gave the warning that "softness really diffuses fine lines and wrinkles and darkness and puffiness".
