The green thumb, who goes by @anyathegardenfairy on TikTok, shared the ancient trick with followers - plenty of whom expressed excitement to try the method out at home.
To get a limitless supply of the gorgeous flower, first, scrape around 1.5cm of the bark of a healthy, pencil-thick stem, and then wrap a piece of plastic around the stem. Anya tied it up with some twine.
You must make sure that you use a black foil or plastic bag, with the gardener adding: “A see-through bag is no good.”

After, add peat-free compost into the bag, squeezing the stem slightly so that the freshly-cut part of the stem comes into contact with the soil.
When soil has fully blanketed the stem, wrap up the bag fully with more twine.
From then on, simply continue watering the make-shift flower pot every so often, keeping the compost moist. There is no need to do so in winter, Anya said.
The propagation process takes six to eight months

The entire process takes between four and six months for roots to form, which is the end goal of propagation.
Any noted: “This is one of my favourite forms of propagation, dating back to 4000 years ago.
“I love it because it only takes five minutes of my time, and all the magic happens in the background.
“Unwrapping the bag after a few months is truly amazing. It feels like unwrapping the most precious gift.”
