The slimmer said: "Following a meal plan, writing out a meal plan and preparing all your meals for the day the night before is what keeps you on track"

While losing weight may feel like an impossible task, it's possible to make a huge transformation if you have the right strategies.

Chloe Murphy, also known as Pinch of Chloe, took to YouTube to share how she lost a whopping 8st in one year. She advised slimmers to develop a routine if they want to see results.

Chloe admitted she had tried to lose weight many times before something "clicked". She did "every diet in the book" but found that eventually getting into a healthy routine is what really helped her achieve her goals.

She told fellow slimmers: "I think getting yourself into a routine is absolutely key.

"If you wake up in the morning and don't know what you're having for your breakfast, don't know what you're doing with your day, you'll probably think, 'I can't be bothered, I'll start tomorrow'. That's not what we want.

"Getting yourself into a routine is absolutely key." This can mean planning meals and snacks ahead of time, as well as activities and exercises.

In a similar vein, according to Chloe, preparation is essential. She said prepping meals helps her to stay on track.

Doing this can eliminate a slimmer's desire to reach for unhealthy foods throughout the day, or rely on takeaways or ready meals.

Meal prepping means all your food for the day is catered for, which makes avoiding cravings much easier.

Chloe advised: "Always think of the end goal - think about the goal you have in sight. For example, I wanted to lose 10st.

"If I'd have been going out every weekend - like I wanted to and was used to doing - I wouldn't be where I am now."

Considering what your goal is every time you're about to make a poor decision may work wonders.

She continued: "The further you get into your journey, the better you'll feel, and that's the feeling that keeps me going."

Curbing cravings doesn't mean you have to deprive yourself completely, though. Slimmers can still eat sweets and chocolate, but they should try to go for healthy alternatives or smaller quantities.

Chloe recommended enjoying a little treat every night within the calories in your plan.

As for "cheat meals", these can be enjoyed in moderation. Rather than having a cheat meal every week, slimmers should consider having these when going out for special occasions.

Providing a word of advice, she added: "But make sure you don't overindulge because that's what a lot of us - including me - do when they have a cheat meal."
