Porsche is set to debut revolutionary technology as part of its luxury offering to customers that could make it easier for motorists to charge their cars.
The premium German brand said it would soon be offering a wireless charging option, making it the first manufacturer to bring an 11kW charging system with a one-box base plate to the market.
The technological advancement means the one-box base plate can be mounted on the floor without the need to install a wallbox or control unit.
Porsche will debut the technology as a separate order for its new Cayenne model, while Porsche Centres and the Porsche Shop will stock the floor plate next year.

The technology will be first exhibited at the IAA Mobility event in Munich next week, complete with a prototype model of the Cayenne with fluorescent paint.
Porsche also confirmed that the full unveiling of the Cayenne Electric is planned for the end of the year as the brand moves towards its electric goals.
The wireless charging pad has a maximum power of up to 11kW, meaning it has reached the level of wired AC charging, despite being contactless.
In a further boost for Porsche owners, the efficiency of energy transfer from the power grid to the battery is up to an impressive 90 per cent.

Research from the manufacturing giant found that around 75 per cent of all charging processes in electric Porsche models take place at home.
Dr Michael Steiner, board member for development at Porsche, said: "Ease of use, suitability for everyday use and charging infrastructure are still the decisive factors when it comes to the acceptance of electric mobility.
"We are proud that inductive charging will soon be available in series production at Porsche. Charging an electric car at home has never been so easy and convenient."
When ordered, customers can opt for the Porsche Installation Service, meaning an electrician will install the inductive floor plate and put it into operation.

The new Porsche Cayenne Electric will be fitted with a receiver unit located on the underbody of the vehicle between the front wheels.
To begin charging, the Cayenne needs to be parked above the floor plate, with charging typically taking place over a distance of a few centimetres.
The EV will lower automatically to sit above the floor plate, which contains a motion detector and foreign object detection.
Drivers with the My Porsche app can track the progress of the charging, while timer charging with preconditioning will also be available when it rolls out for drivers in Europe in 2026.

Test images show a sensor inside the Cayenne Electric to help drivers find the optimal charging position when aligning with the floor plate.
Extensive testing by TÜV Süd has confirmed the robustness and durability of the wireless charging base plate. It can withstand rain and snow, and can even avoid significant damage when it is driven over.
Porsche is aiming to develop its electric vehicle offering over the coming years, although it did roll back its plans to have 80 per cent of its models be electric by 2030.
It already has two electric vehicles on the market, including the Taycan and Macan models, while drivers can opt for a Cayenne or Panamera as a hybrid model.
