Drivers have been warned to prepare for significant disruption from today as two major M25 junctions get ready to close, impacting travel for thousands.
The Brook Street roundabout at Junction 28 will be partially closed from today (Friday, May 9) until Monday, May 12 - affecting traffic between the M25 and A12 in Essex.
This will be followed by the complete closure of the M25 Wisley Interchange at Junction 10, the following weekend between Friday, May 16 and Monday, May 19.
National Highways has confirmed the Wisley closure will be the final full weekend shutdown for the long-running improvement scheme.

Drivers have been advised to plan alternative routes and allow extra time for journeys during both weekend closures. The northern side of the Brook Street roundabout will be closed from 11pm today until 5am on Monday, May 12.
Shaun Jones, AA Patrol of the Year, said: "Due to access and exiting restrictions on this stretch of the M25, we urge drivers to plan their journeys in advance by downloading the AA Route Planner and to allow plenty of extra time for their journeys.
"We advise drivers who need to use junction 10 to familiarise themselves with the planned diversion routes and to expect delays."
During this partial closure, only four traffic movements will remain possible through the roundabout. These include leaving the M25 anticlockwise to join the A12 westbound and leaving the A12 westbound to join the M25 clockwise.
Drivers will also still be able to leave the A12 westbound to access the A1023 towards Brentwood. The fourth permitted movement allows drivers who accidentally exit the A12 westbound to rejoin the same road.
National Highways said it will close the roundabout in sections to minimise disruption while carrying out essential utility diversions and resurfacing works.
Signed diversions will also be in place throughout the Brook Street roundabout closure. Drivers on the A12 eastbound needing to access the roundabout must continue to junction 12 (Shenfield) and return westbound.
Those travelling clockwise on the M25 wanting to join the A12 westbound should continue to junction 29 and return via the anticlockwise carriageway.
Motorists on the A12 westbound heading eastbound will need to turn around at Gallows Corner. Anyone needing to join the M25 anticlockwise from the A12 must travel to Gallows Corner, then use the A12 Eastern Avenue, A406 and M11, National Highways explained.
The agency also confirmed that Ulez cameras will not operate on official diversion routes, but drivers deviating from these may still face charges. Meanwhile, the Wisley Interchange at Junction 10 will face complete closure from 9pm on Friday, May 16 until 6am on Monday, May 19.
This shutdown will affect the entire junction, including all entry and exit slip roads connecting the M25 with the A3. The closure is necessary to complete final surfacing work on the gyratory, which is scheduled for completion by the end of summer.
This represents the final full weekend closure for the junction improvement scheme that has been ongoing since 2022.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
During the closures, drivers will have to follow a diverted route

Jones also recommended motorists prepare their vehicles before setting off. "Check oil and coolant levels, tyres and make sure you have enough fuel or electric charge to cover the planned diversions," he advised.
The Wisley Interchange is one of the busiest sections of the M25, serving as a crucial link for travellers to both Gatwick and Heathrow airports. Local roads surrounding junction 10 and the Wisley stretch of the A3 are expected to experience significant traffic increases during the closure.
