A mechanic has revealed the best cars that drivers can buy with cheaper running costs as they don't require "frequent visits" to the repair shop.
The cost of living crisis has hammered drivers in the last few years with expensive car insurance prices, fuel prices and vehicle tax rates all rising quite dramatically.
With many looking to cut back on their costs, a mechanic is calling on drivers to avoid particular cars as they may end up spending more money to keep them roadworthy.
Reaz, a professional mechanic of 17 years and garage owner, has urged motorists to instead opt for more suitable vehicles that have cheaper running costs and will not require expensive repairs.

The Volvo XC90 has been backed by mechanics as being particularly reliable
VOLVOThe expert claimed that larger SUV-type vehicles could be particularly prone to a surge in trips to repair shops, as some drivers may see issues.
He added that more suitable vehicles for drivers who want larger cars include the Volvo XC90 T8 R Design Pro or any Toyota or Lexus petrol hybrid vehicle.
The Volvo XC90 has been described as the brand's "most luxurious SUV" with a fuel consumption rate of 33.8mpg, 250 horsepower and a cargo capacity of up to 680 litres.
Volvo, as well as Toyota and Lexus, have often been praised for their reliability, build quality and family-friendly design, which has resulted in the brands becoming some of the most popular around the world.
Reaz said: "These models rarely see the inside of a repair shop except for routine maintenance, making them a top choice for savvy car buyers seeking durability and minimal repair costs."
Toyota often features towards the top of rankings for the most reliable vehicles on the road, helping the brand sell 58,501 vehicles so far this year, enough for five per cent of the total market share of new car registrations.
Volvo have a more modest sales count with just under 37,000 car sales since the start of the year, although this is 7,000 more than the previous year.
Motorists may also struggle with more modern vehicles as they need specialist work given the amount of complex electronics packed inside, compared to an older vehicle where the parts are more readily available.
This has resulted in drivers being urged to take their vehicles to a professional to ensure the electronics are taken care of securely, as it could avoid further trips to the garage.
The mechanic highlighted how important systems inside the vehicle will need to be recalibrated or formatted properly by a professional with certain things out of the remit of most drivers.
For example, the Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) will need to be recalibrated following a collision, with a specialist being needed to undertake the task.
Reaz added: "If you notice delays in your car's engagement or with an advanced driver feature, it may be that your ADAS system is faulty and needs to be recalibrated by a garage or motoring professional."
