The 83-year-old was back on The Voice this past weekend

Sir Tom Jones has been inundated with plaudits after he took to the microphone during Saturday's episode of The Voice.

The 83-year-old Sexbomb hitmaker proved he's still got it as he belted out a rendition of Ben E King classic Stand By Me alongside fellow judge Anne Marie.

The impromptu performance came just a few weeks after a number of ITV viewers expressed their concern for the singer after spotting a mark on his face during the show's opening episode earlier this month.

The crowd clapped along as Jones and his fellow The Voice judge took to the mics to perform the song while co-stars Olly Murs and Will.i.am looked on in admiration.

Jones remained seated for the performance while Anne Marie took to her feet to serenade the crowd before they shared a hug at the end.

The Delilah singer clearly enjoyed the moment just as much as the crowd as he took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a clip of the performance with his fans.

"What a treat to perform with the sensational @AnneMarie!" Jones penned followed by the hashtags: "#StandByMe #TheVoiceUK."

It didn't take long for X users to react to the clip, with many overwhelmed by Jones's flawless rendition of the classic hit.

"Watch this without cracking a smile. I dare you," one fan praised in response to the video.

While a second was left in bits as they added: "Tears for real! #OneLove #TomJones #SirTomJones... a part of my full-circle moment... timing is everything! #TheVoiceUK #TheVoice."

Elsewhere, a third praised: "I love seeing artists from way different gens transcending time together and I hope @RealSirTomJones lives forever. The years haven't touched you Sir Tom, same powerful voice."

And a fourth echoed: "This is so so good. How on earth can Tom sing like this still. Amazing," followed by an applause emoji.

A fifth concurred: "#TheVoiceUK The Stand By Me duet with Sir Tom and Anne-Marie was beautiful."

While a sixth suggested: "Anne Marie and Tom Jones performing a version of Stand By Me was heartwarming. They should release that as a single. #TheVoiceUK." (sic)

The praise for Jones comes just a few episodes after a handful of ITV viewers raised concerns about his appearance.

After spotting a mark on the singer's face, a number took to social media to share their worries, including one person who penned at the time: "What's that new spot on Tom's face? Hope it's ok...#TheVoice."

"What has Sir Tom Jones done to his face?!! I love him but please Tom, don’t touch the face!! #TheVoice," a second added amid the concern.

However, following Jones and Anne Marie's show-stopping duet, the 83-year-old has proven he's just as sprightly as ever.
