Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez has been “confirmed” to be rejoining the BBC cast later this year by his wife and former Strictly star Gemma Atkinson.
Marquez has been on the BBC show since 2016 and recently revealed that he has no plans to leave the show.
Whilst producers like to keep the news of their returning professionals under wraps for a few more weeks, it seems that Marquez has already been told the good news.
His wife, Atkinson, “accidentally confirmed” that he would be returning to the next series in a now-deleted social media post.
The pair share two children – Mia, four, and Thiago, eight months – and left Atkinson to comment on their childcare issues when he stars on the show.
According to the Daily Mail, she penned: “Depending on Gorka’s partner and whether he has a partner, depending on where they’re based, he doesn’t know where he is.

“All the childcare lands on my family because obviously, all his family are in Spain.”
This isn’t the first time that Atkinson has touched on their childcare issues, after Marquez returned to his native country Spain for work.
The radio host previously said: “I’m really fortunate that my mum and my stepdad are retied, and they live [close to our home in Manchester].”
Atkinson isn’t the only one who has teased their return to the show, with Luba Mushtuk and Jowita Pryzstal noting they are still yet to find out themselves.

Pryzstal said: “Hopefully we’re back – we don’t know yet. You will need to watch to find out,” before Mushtuk added: “Fingers crossed!”
The BBC told The Mirror that the dancers taking part in the next series of Strictly will be announced “in due course”.
A spokesperson commented: “The professional dancers for 2024 will be announced in due course.”
GB News has contacted the BBC for a separate comment.

There has already been speculation as to which celebrities will take part in the new series, with Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham being one of them.
An insider told The Daily Mirror that the star is seriously considering the offer and said: “Hannah would be an incredible signing for Strictly this year, and so far things are looking very positive.
“She loves the show – she has heard so much about it from Anton [Du Beke] – and is keen to do it. It’s just a question of whether or not it’s possible to fit it into her schedule.
“Obviously, it’s a very big commitment, and she is incredibly in demand at the moment. Hannah is fast approaching national treasure status, and the Strictly bosses know she’d be a smash hit with fans.
“So they are doing everything they can to make it work on their side, and hoping that they can encourage her to sign on the dotted line - it would be a real coup for them to get her on board.”
