Stacey Solomon has issued an important update to concerned fans about the health of her beloved family dog, Teddy, following recent news that he'd been diagnosed with a devastating health condition.
Unfortunately, the presenter and TV personality couldn't share a happy update, but she ended the post on a positive note as she made clear how loved the pooch is by her and husband Joe Swash, as well as their children.
Solomon, 35, took to Instagram on Tuesday evening after a few weeks of silence about Teddy's condition.
After noting in April that she'd been told the family dog "might not ever fully recover," she explained their fears had come to fruition, with the Cocker Spaniel's health woes set to last "forever".
Stacey Solomon shared in April that Teddy had become unwell
She shared a sweet photo of Teddy sleeping peacefully on a bed, writing in view of her 6million followers: "Teddy update. So many of you asking.
"After his vet appointment it looks likely that Teddy will never get the feeling back in his legs & will need our help with urinating & assisted walks and physio forever."
The Sort Your Life Out host continued: "But the good news is... The vet was so pleased with how happy Teddy was & how well we are doing his physio & managing his bladder so me & Joe were really happy with that & felt extremely proud.
"I feel sad for Teddy but I'm also confident that me and Joe can give him the happiest life & all the love he deserves."
Stacey Solomon issued an update on the health of her young dog, Teddy
Looking to the future, the mother-of-five concluded: "So this new journey is forever. But we love Teddy so much we will just keep going & do our best to find new ways to keep him healthy & happy for as long as we can."
in April, Solomon shared a series of posts about Teddy after previously revealing her family's heartbreak over his health.
She explained to fans: "Teddy became suddenly unwell on Thursday. It turns out he has a predisposed condition we had no idea about as he was a rescue.
"He has been operated on by incredible vets and the next 3-4 days are crucial for him to get through, even then, he might not ever fully recover.
"We are praying and hoping so hard that he pulls through & that we can care for him in the best way we possibly can to give him the best life he can have.
Solomon continued: "We are all truly devastated. He is the sweetest, most protective, loving dog.
"He’s our family. And far too young to be going through this. We love you Ted. So so much. Pickle cottage (the family's Essex home) is far too quiet without you."
Signing off, she ended the post: "I miss my toilet buddy. Peanut is so sad without his best friend," along with a black love heart emoji.
Stacey Solomon explained her dog's condition is permanent
The Solomon family adopted Teddy in 2022 following the death of their previous dog, Theodore.
Teddy's name was chosen as a special tribute, with Stacey explaining: "We called him Teddy because Teddy can be short for Theodore so we thought it was a special tribute to Theo."
