The 70-year-old actor was reportedly set to put on his debut UK art exhibition later this year
Pierce Brosnan has warned his fans against buying tickets to an art exhibition supposedly featuring his artwork - with some tickets priced at £500 a pop.
The SMS Art Gallery in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, advertised on its site that Brosnan would helm a three-week show in December.
Its site still has the event listed and tells Brosnan fans: "This remarkable exhibition offers a unique opportunity to engage with the multifaceted artist and cultural icon, attendees can choose from various ticket options."
Prices range from £15 all the way up to £500 for those who want to experience a VIP meet and greet with the former Bond actor.
But after seeing the event and reports of the exhibition sweep the web in recent days, Brosnan has spoken out.
He penned on Instagram to his 2.1 million followers: "To my fans and friends, I will not be exhibiting my artwork at the SMS Art Gallery in Nottingham in December 2023.
"Reports that the SMS Art Gallery has been engaged to host an exhibition are false.
"I would never charge for a meet and greet," he continued before revealing he'd sought legal advice on the matter.
Brosnan added: "My attorney has contacted the gallery and sent a cease and desist letter.
"I look forward to having an exhibition in the UK in the future and, when the time comes, you will hear from me. Peace, РВ."
Inevitably it didn't take long for Brosnan's followers to praise the actor for his honest response to the reported event as well as his "class" at refusing to charge for a meet and greet.
"That's class. All the way," one fan penned in response before a second added: "No problem Pierce and well nipped in the bud. Hope you and the family are well and we hope to hear from you soon."
Elsewhere, a third weighed in: "What a honorable and gentle gesture of yours. I highly admire you for two of your attitudes: how you are with your wife and how noble your attitude is as you've never thought high of yourself.
"I hope the next James Bond could be worth of the character you represented so well," they added before a fourth commented: "This story is crazy.
