The singer, 41, and his other half shared the exciting news on their social media platforms

Singer Olly Murs and his wife Amelia have become parents for the second time after revealing they welcomed their second child earlier this week.

The 41-year-old performer revealed the news through an Instagram post showing the family departing from hospital.

In the photograph, Murs could be seen carrying his eldest child whilst managing a baby carrier containing the newborn.

The couple chose to announce their son's arrival with the caption: "Walking out as four. Welcome to the world, our little Albert."

The baby's name may hold special significance, as genealogical records indicate Murs had a great-grandfather called Eduards Albert Murs who worked as a performer.

Amelia took to her own Instagram page to share another heartfelt message to coincide with their joint statement.

"My heart is so full right now," she penned to her followers via her Stories, alongside a crying emoji.

The Essex-born artist married 32-year-old Amelia during a countryside ceremony in their home county in July 2023. Their family expanded when they welcomed daughter Madison in April 2024.

The couple had chosen to keep their second baby's gender a surprise until birth. Amelia had previously shared: "It's hard to tell, because I was convinced Madi was a boy. But I do think this one is a boy."

Olly had different thoughts about their unborn child, stating: "Obviously, that'd be cool, but I'm swaying more to thinking it's a girl. I'd love that, I genuinely would."

Messages of support poured in following the announcement, with television presenter Mark Wright commenting: "Awww a little boy. So made up for you both. Congratulations guys, love you."

Instagram users also shared their well-wishes, with one supporter writing: "Massive congratulations!! Welcome to the world baby Albert, Maddison is going to be best big sister. Love to you all xxxx."

Another fan commented: "Stop, how beautiful!!!! I am beyond happy for you all," whilst others expressed similar sentiments about the new arrival.

Witham-raised performer Murs is scheduled to appear at Hylands Park this weekend for BBC Radio 2 In The Park.

His recent schedule included performances in Blackpool and Scotland before the Chelmsford engagement on September 7.

During a recent podcast appearance, Murs expressed his determination to be present for his second child's birth.

He revealed: "I've said to Amelia, please, please don't have the baby early."

This concern stemmed from missing time with Madison after her birth, when contractual obligations required him to resume touring with Take That after just two days.

He had described the experience as "horrible" when leaving his newborn daughter and wife to fulfil performance commitments.
