Character actor Floyd Levine, who featured in the long-running television series Murder, She Wrote, has passed away aged 93. The veteran performer died on Sunday whilst in the company of his family members.
His daughter-in-law Tracy Robbins shared the news through an Instagram post, revealing that the actor was "surrounded by his beautiful family" during his final moments.
She added that he was "probably wishing someone would bring him a martini" in his last hours. The Brooklyn-born performer enjoyed a prolific career spanning numerous decades in Hollywood.
His extensive television and film credits included appearances in acclaimed productions such as Dog Day Afternoon and Night Shift, establishing him as a recognisable face in American entertainment.

Levine's television portfolio encompassed nearly 100 credited roles, featuring memorable appearances in programmes such as Cagney & Lacey, where he portrayed Desk Sergeant Lubin, and Melrose Place as Dr Howard Stein.
He also featured in Police Squad!, Charlie's Angels, Hill Street Blues, Three's Company, Arlis$ and Mad About You.
The actor frequently collaborated with his son Brian Robbins, who became a prominent producer, director and studio executive.
These joint projects included the ABC sitcom Head of the Class, where Levine portrayed a judge whilst his son starred as student Eric Mardian.

Their professional partnership extended to films such as Coach Carter, where Levine played a taxi driver, and Norbit, in which he appeared as a tailor.
He also featured in Good Burger, Meet Dave and A Thousand Words, all directed or produced by his son.
Tracy Robbins described her father-in-law as "the best father-in-law, grandpa and all-around jokester" in her social media announcement.
She revealed that "Floyd loved Frank Sinatra, classic films and making everyone laugh," painting a picture of a man who cherished entertainment both professionally and personally.
The actor's journey began in New York, where he was born on 23rd February 1932.
Before achieving success in Hollywood, Levine worked as a taxi driver to fund his acting ambitions, initially securing minor roles as police officers in films including Super Fly and Death Wish.
His early television work featured appearances in popular 1970s series such as Kojak, Baretta, Starsky & Hutch and Wonder Woman, before relocating his family to Los Angeles in 1979.
Levine's career trajectory saw him transition from driving taxis in Brooklyn's Marine Park neighbourhood to becoming a respected character actor with roles in major productions including Airplane II: The Sequel, The Border and The Hangover.
His filmography also encompassed Bloodbrothers, Braddock: Missing in Action III and numerous television appearances.
The actor is survived by his daughter Sheryl, who works as a casting director, his son Marc, and several grandchildren. His wife Rochelle predeceased him in May 2022 at the age of 85.
