Veteran presenter Michaela Strachan has welcomed her first grandchild into the world as she took to social media to share the happy family update.
Her announcement comes after the 59-year-old's stepson Tom Chevallier became a father this week when his partner Mikayla Humphries gave birth to a son.
The Springwatch presenter took to social media to share a reel of sweet snaps accompanied by excited captions. The first showed a picture of the TV show host posing next to the new parents and tiny tot, with "Today I became a Granny!" written at the top.
Another showed Tom holding the newborn who was huddled close to his chest wearing a white babygrow and hat. "Little Huxley with Dad Tom," the caption read.

The third paid tribute to Strachan's soon-to-be daughter-in-law, who seemed to have endured a gruelling labour. The new mother could be seen holding her baby son in the hospital bed as the presenter wrote: "Amazing mum Mikayla after 55 hours of labour!!!"
Other snaps showed the family members posing for the first time with the newborn, their elation clear.
Strachan penned next to the social media post: "Today I became a Granny!! After an extremely stressful and exhausting labour, 55hrs, baby Huxley finally arrived!!
"So proud of my future daughter in law @finalfinal.jpeg & my step son @tchev3000 Proud new parents.
"Me and granny @jackyhumphries were a wee bit emotional. Welcome to the world baby Huxley. So, so precious."

Michaela Strachan's stepson, Tom, welcomed a baby son on Monday
Wildlife expert Strachan met Tom's dad Nick Chevallier in 2003, and welcomed their son Ollie in 2006. Prior to his birth, Strachan had shared concerns that Chevallier, who was a widower and already a father-of-three, may not want anymore children.
Speaking to The Times, she explained: "When I got together with Nick, I thought he might feel he didn't want a fourth child of his own. But it all worked out. He adores Ollie."
Following her latest celebratory post, fans flooded her comment section with happy messages and congratulated the family.
One penned: "Congratulations to you all, it’s just the best being a grandparent," while another echoed this, adding: "Congratulations to all! It’s the most special thing becoming a granny."
"Congratulations Grandparent is the best job in the world, you will love it," a third commented.
"Congratulations to you all," another wrote, with someone else adding: "My heart’s exploding congrats all you special people!!!!! Hello Huxley."
"Ah, congratulations! Hope mum and baby are doing well," another shared. (sic)
Speaking recently, Strachan addressed her Springwatch co-star Chris Packham's ongoing feud with Jeremy Clarkson.
"We've got an incredibly loyal audience that wants escapism when they watch our show, they want the joy of nature," Strachan told The Telegraph about Springwatch.

The presenter added that viewers: "don’t want to be preached at, although obviously there’s a lot of environmental stuff that we’d like to talk about."
Her comment led her to reflect on her co-host, who is known for his outspoken environmentalism.
“I think you need Chris Packhams in this world. And I think because of his autism, he doesn’t care what people think about him.
“If people start throwing insults at him, that spurs him on,” she explained.
