The comedian appeared far from his typical, upbeat persona in photos snapped on Wednesday

Comedian Michael McIntyre appeared visibly fuming as his luxury £195,000 Mercedes-AMG GT R was towed away in Kensington, London on Wednesday.

The 49-year-old was photographed having an animated discussion with an official wearing a yellow hi-vis jacket as his high-end vehicle was hoisted onto the back of a lorry with its wheels clamped.

Despite his typically jovial on-screen persona, the funnyman looked distinctly unimpressed during the unfortunate incident on High Street Kensington.

Pictured in the MailOnline, McIntyre was dressed smartly in a navy suit and pink shirt, sporting his signature square glasses as construction workers looked on.

The tow truck removed his expensive sports car from Derry Street, where it had reportedly been parked in a bay reserved for police cars.

According to an onlooker who spoke to The Sun, McIntyre attempted to resolve the situation on the spot.

"He was protesting and trying to pay the two tow truck operators not to take his Mercedes away but they weren't having it," the witness said.

The comedian reportedly offered to pay the charge immediately, but his vehicle was still removed.

"You could tell he was frustrated but kept himself calm. He was trying to see if he could go with them to the impound," the onlooker added.

The parking bay was apparently temporarily restricted due to a nearby building site.

Another witness told the publication that McIntyre seemed to "laugh it off" when they commented on his misfortune, responding with "oh well".

McIntyre's Mercedes-AMG GT R is a high-performance vehicle that retails for between £155,000 and £195,000.

The luxury sports car boasts a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine capable of producing 585 horsepower.

It can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds and has a top speed approaching 200mph.

This isn't the comedian's first Mercedes, as he previously owned a dark blue Mercedes AMG GT purchased in 2014.

McIntyre is known to be an avid car collector with an impressive fleet of luxury vehicles.

His collection has reportedly included a £150,000 Ferrari California, an £80,000 Jaguar XK convertible, a BMW X5 and a Porsche Cayenne.

The comedian is said to have amassed a net worth of approximately £80 million. In other news, McIntyre's career continues to flourish despite his automotive woes.

The BBC recently confirmed it has ordered two further series of Michael McIntyre's Big Show, following the success of series eight, which achieved an average audience of 5.9 million viewers.

The BBC noted the show is "one of the biggest shows on Saturday Nights across the board".

McIntyre has in the past expressed his pride in the success of both The Big Show and The Wheel, stating: "This will take the Big Show up to its 10th series, which is an amazing achievement for everyone involved.

"The Wheel was a show we made in lockdown while we couldn't film the Big Show, but it's become equally beloved."
