The first series of the documentary show wrapped up on Tuesday

The BBC has confirmed that fly-on-the-wall reality series Stacey and Joe will return for a second series following the heartwarming success of series one.

The show, which follows the lives of Stacey Solomon, 35, husband Joe Swash, 43, and their family at their Pickle Cottage home, launched to an impressive audience of 4.2 million on BBC One. However, news of another series has divided viewers.

More than a third of viewers tuned in on demand to the show, making it the sixth biggest Factual series on iPlayer over the last year.

The first series, which aired in April, consisted of six episodes showing moments from Solomon winning an NTA to Swash navigating his ADHD diagnosis.

Filming for the second series is already getting underway and will include Stacey and Joe taking a family trip.

Viewers will continue to see the couple managing their busy work lives and passion projects at their Essex home.

The new episodes will also capture the family celebrating milestone moments together.

The Solomon-Swash household includes their children, four ducks, four ducklings and two dogs.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

The second series will again consist of six hour-long episodes for BBC One and iPlayer, though a launch date has yet to be announced.

The BBC confirmed the new series will air later this year.

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash expressed their gratitude, saying: "The biggest thank you to every single person who watched the first series of Stacey & Joe... We've been so grateful for all the lovely messages and we're so excited to bring out another series with the BBC."

Clare Sillery, Head of Commissioning at BBC Documentaries, said: "We are delighted to be working with the Solomon Swash family and Optomen once again, on what already promises to be an incredibly exciting second series."

She added: "It's been great to see how viewers have taken Stacey, Joe, their kids and beloved pets to their hearts."

However, not all fans were as pleased by the news, with many taking to social media to share their reaction to the news.

Responding to a post about the new series on X, one person wrote: "This nobody wants!"

"Oh dear. Is this the best the bbc can do?" another disgruntled viewer asked, with another fuming: "Are you on a mission to deter people from paying for a TV licence?"

Someone else complained furiously: "More c**p from the BBC." However, others were delighted to find out about the show's future.
