Singer Jessie J has revealed she was diagnosed with early breast cancer two months ago, sharing the news with fans through an Instagram video on Wednesday.

The 37-year-old, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, told followers she had been "in and out of tests" whilst continuing to work on her music career.

"I was diagnosed with early breast cancer," she said in the video. "Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding on to the word 'early'."

The Price Tag singer discovered her diagnosis in April, shortly before releasing her single "No Secrets", and has spent recent weeks undergoing medical tests whilst maintaining her professional commitments.

The Grammy nominee will undergo surgery after her scheduled performance at Capital's Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on 15 June.

"I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive tits and more music," she said, maintaining her sense of humour despite the challenging circumstances.

The singer also noted the ironic timing of her health battle, pointing out she received the diagnosis just as she was releasing a song titled "No Secrets".

"To get diagnosed with this, as I'm putting out a song called 'No Secrets' right before a song called 'Living My Best Life,' which was all pre-planned before I found out about this. I mean, you can't make it up," she said.

The singer explained her decision to share the diagnosis publicly, saying she needed to process the news and connect with others experiencing similar challenges.

"I just wanted to be open and share it," she expressed. "One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard."

She added that sharing her experiences in the past had helped her receive support from fans who offered their own stories.

"It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse—that's the bit that kills me," she said.

The artist later posted on her Instagram story: "But honestly, I need to process it and talk about it, I need a hug."

Friends and fans quickly took to the comments to offer the singer support, with TV host Gaby Roslin writing: "Sending you so much love and enormous hugs."

Another person added: "God is already busy healing you. You give us so much kindness. It's time for the universe to give back some of that light. We love you and will always be with you."

A third called her a "warrior", adding: "Open book and open heart, we love you and support you always, sending you the best energy for a soon recovery."

A fourth fan wrote: "You are not alone. May your recovery be gentle, peaceful, and full of healing. Sending you a tight hug and all the love my heart can carry."

Jessie J has faced numerous health challenges throughout her life, having been diagnosed with a cardiac condition aged eight and suffering a minor stroke at 18.

In 2020, she temporarily lost her hearing, and in November 2021, she experienced the heartache of a miscarriage.

The singer welcomed her first child, son Sky Safir Cornish Colman, in May 2023 with her boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman, a retired Danish-Israeli basketball player.

Despite her latest diagnosis, the European and UK "No Secrets Tour 2025" remains scheduled to begin in late summer, with the first show planned for Amsterdam.
