As Ellie asked Eamonn if it was her "bottle green" outfit, he corrected her, revealing: "No, it's RUC green, Royal Ulster Constabulary green, as she pointed out to me.
"She said yes, RUC green, what do you think?"
The veteran broadcaster then revealed that the late Princess "started crying" about a recent bombing in Northern Ireland, telling Eamonn a "sob story".
Eamonn recalled: "And then she went into a whole literal sob story. She started crying about a bomb explosion that had happened in Northern Ireland, and she was very, very close, very connected with all of that.

Ellie was amazed by Eamonn's story, praising the Diana for appearing to be "very knowledgeable" about what was happening in the province.
Eamonn agreed, telling GB News: "Yes she was very knowledgable."
Sharing more detail of their conversation, Eamonn told Ellie that Diana became "upset" when discussing her sons, Prince Harry and Prince William.
He said: "She then went on to talk about William and Harry going to school, and how that upset her. They went to boarding school or whatever it is, and so we talked about all those things."

Reflecting on Eamonn's meeting with Diana, Ellie said that the late royal "sounded lovely", to which Eamonn agreed.
Heaping praise on the Princess, Eamonn stated: "She was film star status. You just saw her walk into a room and you would go, wow, she's special. Very special."
Noting Diana's iconic fashion status ahead of an auction of some of her most well-known pieces, Ellie concluded: "The designer of Diana's wedding dress said it was just clothes or just a dress.
"But then Diana wore it, and then it was something special and it became part of history, and that's exactly what happened."
