Dick Strawbridge was left feeling tearful when his youngest child, Dorothy, marked a very special milestone.
Escape to the Chateau couple Dick and Angel Strawbridge revealed how their daughter had started secondary school, prompting emotional responses from both them and fans, many of whom recalled her first day of nursery.
Along with three photos of the 11-year-old, parents Mr and Mrs Strawbridge penned on Instagram: "Hello to you on this marvellous Monday!
"It's a very special day for our family as we head into a new era...
"Dorothy had her first day of senior school.. there was of course the normal nerves...
"And as we said our goodbyes it hit home... No matter what age... It really does not get any easier!
"We (us parents) both had tears in our eyes... worried all day... but when we picked up our gorgeous young lady, she was smiling from ear to ear!
"Tomorrow.. Arthur joins Dorothy for his first day in 'cinquième' and a new era truly begins!"

|They concluded the message: "For everyone having their first day back to school... Have fun and embrace every moment and for the mums and dads... big love!" (sic)
The snaps included one of the youngster standing outside the family's chateau home, while another saw Mr Strawbridge with his arm around his daughter as he kissed her forehead.
The last photo saw Dorothy with her arm around her mother, who smiled broadly for the camera.
Many fans of the show recalled the poignant moment in the former Channel 4 series in which Dorothy started nursery, sharing Mr and Mrs Strawbridge's nostalgia and mixed emotions.
