The Escape to the Chateau star shared an insight into his life as a father-of-four recently

Dick Strawbridge and his wife Angel Adoree have opened up about the "challenge" they've faced of late after their youngest daughter Dorothy turned 10.

The Escape to the Chateau pair recently marked their daughter's birthday with a sweet tribute but when speaking on the latest episode of their podcast, they revealed preparations were far from plain sailing.

Strawbridge, 64, shares Dorothy and son Arthur with Adoree while he's also the father to two grown-up children from a previous marriage: James and Charlotte.

When discussing what Dorothy wanted to mark her milestone 10th birthday, Strawbridge recalled a moment when eldest daughter Charlotte was a youngster and wanted something similar - which left him "scared" and "out of my depth".

The insight came when Adoree told Dick & Angel's Chat...Eau listeners that Dorothy had asked for tickets to a Taylor Swift gig.

"Make sure you ask your parents for something you actually have a chance of getting," Strawbridge quipped to listeners before Adoree delved into why Dorothy's request proved a daunting one for the father-of-four.

The former Channel 4 star explained: "Now, I remember about six months ago, Ella who looks after our e-commerce side who's been a Swiftie for about 10 years... I watched Ella have a meltdown (because) she'd been part of the fan club for years and she needed to make sure she had her tickets, this was last summer.

"So the fact Dorothy thought this was a good idea for her birthday, I knew how difficult they are to get, I absolutely knew.

"But I like a challenge! So I've been literally searching everywhere for a couple of tickets because I think it'd be nice if you took her," she said towards her other half.

Surprised by the idea, Strawbridge replied: "I'll take her to see Taylor Swift? I did take Charlotte to see Take That in Cardiff to a concert."

"Did you!?" Adoree asked before Strawbridge opened up on why it was one aspect of parenting he wasn't quite adept at.

"I did, I didn't actually go into the concert because, to be fair, I was completely out of my depth and it scared me a bit," he confessed.

"I'd rather go to the rugby. She was probably a little bit older than Dorothy but not a lot.

"It might not have even been Take That, it could've been Boyzone or something. I know it was Cardiff, but it's quite scary those sort of things. There was an awful lot of screaming, I seem to remember."

"Did you wait in the car park?" Adoree asked to which Strawbridge replied: "I waited outside the door!

"So I've never been to a concert just to put it into context. I saw the Bay City Rollers once in a hotel but that was before anyone had heard of the Bay City Rollers in 1972."

The pair shared a laugh before they moved on with the discussion to address their return to France following their US tour.

Adoree even ended up cutting Strawbridge off elsewhere during the conversation when he brought up a separate emotional milestone son Arthur had ahead of him.
