Dick and Angel Strawbridge have returned home to their French Chateau to find it transformed into a stunning winter wonderland following a dramatic snowstorm.

The former Escape to the Chateau stars shared a video on Instagram showcasing their snow-covered Château de la Motte Husson in Pays de la Loire, France.

The couple, who had been away on their Forever Home UK tour, appeared delighted by the unexpected wintry scene that greeted them upon their return.

The extensive grounds and lake area of their historic property were rendered almost unrecognisable beneath the blanket of snow.

In their social media video, the Strawbridge's captured sweeping views of their snow-covered estate, including the expansive lake behind the Chateau.

The footage shows heavy snowfall against the backdrop of their enormous historic building standing proudly in the winter scene.

"What a welcome back! It's a snow day!" the couple wrote enthusiastically in their caption.

The transformation was so dramatic that some followers struggled to recognise the familiar surroundings, with one fan asking "Where is that?"

Another viewer quickly clarified that the snow-covered structures were "the Chateau's Orangery & the Van du Vin."

Fans were quick to share their delight at the magical winter scenes unfolding at the Chateau.

"I bet it's magical watching that from your winter garden. Welcome home," commented one follower.

Another enthusiast remarked: "Stunning in all weather conditions."

The Strawbridges' conservatory-style extension, which they refer to as their "winter garden," offers elevated views of their snow-covered grounds.

The area, added to the rear of their home, provides the perfect vantage point to enjoy their idyllic surroundings, including acres of land and the large lake.

The couple, who ended their Channel 4 programme in 2022, have always embraced the changing seasons at their French home.

The Strawbridges have made it clear that their French chateau remains their permanent residence, despite occasional rumours of selling.

"This is the long haul," Dick told HELLO! in an exclusive interview last year. "We've had lots of people saying, 'Oh they're selling', but this is our forever home."

The couple have lived in the property for nearly a decade, marking their longest stay in one place.

"I don't think I've lived anywhere for nine years of my life in one place," Strawbridge reflected. "But the chateau just feels permanent. And it has a permanency that is to be enjoyed."

Their children, Arthur and Dorothy, are also settled in what has become their family's forever home.
