Grace Springer appeared on ITV This Morning and opened up about filming the viral moment

The woman who captured that viral clip of two co-workers allegedly having an affair at a Coldplay concert last week revealed the real reason she was filming.

Grace Springer, 28, captured the awkward moment the CEO of Astronomer, Andy Byron, was caught getting cosy with the company's Head of HR, Kristin Cabot, on the stadium's jumbotron in Boston.

The pair quickly noticed they were being projected around the stadium before darting apart and hiding from view, only later to be seen by millions of people around the world.

The tech CEO handed in his resignation last week after a false statement circulated on social media, while Astronomer stated: "Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding.

"Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met."

Appearing on ITV This Morning, the owner of the viral clip, Grace Springer, revealed she was only filming the screen in hopes she would be beamed around the stadium.

"I was hoping to see myself on the big screen and I love to capture moments so that's why my phone was out in the first place," she said. "I was being hopeful.

"When I filmed it, I didn't think much of it, but everyone was chattering. There were over 50,000 people at the concert. It wasn't until after the concert, when I was debriefing - with my friends we reviewed the footage to see if it really looked that bad, and it really does."

Grace Springer appeared on ITV This Morning to discuss the moment she captured a moment that went viral

Daytime host Dermot O'Leary pried as to whether she felt guilty about posting the video: "I definitely feel for Andy's wife, Megan, and his family and everyone else who has been hurt in the process.

"But like I said, there were over 50,000 people and I'm not the only one who caught it on camera, so if it wasn't me who uploaded it, I'm sure someone else would have."

The video racked up millions of views across multiple social media platforms, quickly landing in the laps of global news outlets and national TV networks.

Social media sites were flooded with thousands of comments and reactions to the video, including one from budget airline, Ryanair.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Known for their outlandish, and sometimes inappropriate social media strategy, the airline quote-tweeted the video on social media site X, writing:

"Ryanair [handshake emoji] Coldplay, splitting up couples." (sic).

Millions more people doubled down on the discourse, recreating the moment, making it into memes and even taking it to LinkedIn.

Despite users around the world becoming invested in the drama, people have penned concerns for the duo and their families online.

"As much as I condemn them for doing this, this must be so awful for their families and partners" one user wrote on X.

Obsessed sleuths tracked down the partners and children of the infamous colleagues, some even commenting on their private profiles.

The disgraced duo were both put on leave by the Board of Directors after the incident unfolded.

Astronomer accepted Byron's resignation on Saturday and announced they will be looking for a replacement. Cabot's fate at the company is still unknown.
