Charlotte Crosby issues defiant response amid BBC Celebrity MasterChef backlash for 'annoying' behaviour
BBC
Reality TV star Charlotte Crosby, 34, has spoken out amid the irked reactions she prompted following her Celebrity MasterChef debut on Tuesday night.
Crosby joined Craig Doyle, Ian 'H' Watkins, Edith Bowman and Snoochie Shy in the kitchen to see if she had what it took to impress judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
The Geordie Shore star made it through the first heat of the series after impressing Torode and Wallace with a pan-friend pigeon dish for her first challenge and then Spanish paella and chocolate lave cake for the second.
As soon as she was introduced to viewers, Crosby's loud and confident demeanour came to the forefront as she danced around the kitchen and claimed that if Wallace "had any hair on his head", her cooking would "knock it off".
After presenting her pigeon dish to Torode and Wallace, Crosby also grew impatient as she snapped at the two: "Come on youse, you're keeping us waiting here!"
Torode and Wallace eventually delivered their verdict and after the latter described her pigeon breast as "perfect", Crosby began to jump up and down and shout: "Woohoo!"

Torode said her sauce was "slimy" but said she'd done "a pretty good job" and the compliments kept coming with her chicken, prawn and chorizo paella.
Despite the dish being "a little bit charred", both Torode and Wallace admitted they enjoyed Crosby's creation.
As the show edged towards it climax and after hearing the verdict on her second challenge, Crosby became more subdued and even verged on tears after facing the "hard" day in the kitchen.
However, Crosby's progression in the competition kitchen combined with her over-enthusiastic manner prompted some complaints from social media users - but she's decided to turn a blind eye and focus on the positives.

Speaking out on her Celebrity MasterChef debut, she said on X: "Wow guys! Thankyou so much for all the lovely comments on masterchef... what a fun show it was to do guys!"
And Crosby continued to thank viewers who'd been complimentary over on Instagram too, sharing a screenshot of the messages she'd received from fans.
She wrote in the accompanying caption: "Guys your all absolutely amazing and I love you all so much I've literally had 1000s of messages about how much you have all loved tonight's episode! thankyou so much for all the beautiful message." (sic)
Crosby had received plenty of support from fans familiar with her antics during the show but those who may not be the biggest reality TV fans were unimpressed.
Taking to X to comment on Crosby's behaviour, one fan fumed: "If Charlotte carries on at that volume I'll be switching off. Must be very distracting for everyone else. #CelebrityMasterchef."
A second slammed the results of the first show: "Rip off. Charlotte should’ve gone. That paella looked so stodgy and dry and it was burnt !!!! #CelebrityMasterchef."
