BBC The Repair Shop viewers in tears as Dominic Chinea delivers 'phenomenal' fix despite admitting 'I'm nervous'
BBC
The Repair Shop left fans in "floods" of tears with a classic episode on Wednesday as expert craftsman Dominic Chinea took on a tough and sentimental fix.
It came as guest Kate brought in a large toy train which had definitely seen better days.
"What on earth has happened to this poor little train?" Chinea asked, to which Kate replied: "Oh, it's seen a lot of love!"
She continued: "My dad bought it in the 1960s for my older sister and brother, and they played on it as kids.
"And then, in the 1980s when he met my mum, he took it with him and we played on it."
"So you've used it?" the restoration worker asked, which Kate confirmed.

"I have, yeah. I have been pushed around by my dad, I've got lovely memories of him pushing us round the garden," she recalled.
She went on to add: "My dad has always had such an interest in trains," before talking further about memories of her father.
"I'm a bit nervous to ask you, but what are you hoping I can do?" Chinea questioned.
"I'm hoping my children can sit in it and not get impaled!" Kate admitted, before adding that her main goal would be for her children to enjoy the train just as she had done when she was a child.

Getting visibly emotional, she went on to share: "And my dad won't be able to push them, because he unfortunately had a stroke in March, and he isn't able to walk anymore... But when we told him about this he was excited."
"It's his two great loves, his trains and his grandkids," she noted. Later, Kate was in floods of tears as she came back to collect the train, which looked brand new and was definitely safe for children to play with again.
In fact, her young daughter was happy to test it out in the iconic Repair Shop barn. Kate was left speechless with emotion but explained how delighted she was with the fix. Host Jay Blades went on to comment on the "super cute" moment.
Kate wasn't the only one moved by the heartwarming display, with fans tuned in also confessing they were "destroyed" by the moment.
