Eurovision viewers were left rather perturbed minutes into Saturday's grand finale as UK act Remember Monday appeared to be booed before they'd even take to the stage to perform.
The girl group, made up of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele, represented the UK with their song What the Hell Just Happened? at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest.
But before they could belt out their smash hit, Remember Monday along with their fellow finalists took part in the opening parade.
Coming out in eighth spot, the girl smiled from ear to ear as they greeted the audience while waving the Union Jack flag, but BBC viewers felt something was amiss.

"Welp. We’re already getting booed at #Eurovision! Why do we even try? I hope Remember Monday get at least 1 point!! Go UK," one X user said.

A second called for one of the BBC's Eurovision team to help: "@Rylan why did the United Kingdom just get booed. We do have pause and rewind and EBU tried to mask it."
"Why do we enter this crap & give it money? UK always get 0 points as countries just vote for their neighbours & the audience booed the girls... We're hated for leaving the union... GET OVER IT. T**ts #Eurovision," a third raged.
"Did anyone else hear booing when the UK came on?? #Eurovision," a fourth questioned, and they weren't alone as a fifth similarly asked: "Was that booing for the UK there? #bbceurovision." (sic)
Despite the apparent setback at the start of the show, many fans were ultimately impressed with the trio's performance, with some describing it as "sensational" on social media.
The UK has participated in every Eurovision Grand Final since 1959 and automatically qualifies as one of the 'Big Five' nations.
The trio dressed in colourful Bridgerton-style outfits as they became the first girl group to represent the UK since 1999.
Remember Monday first gained prominence after appearing on BBC One's The Voice UK in 2019, where they auditioned with a country-tinged cover of Seal's Kiss from a Rose and chose Jennifer Hudson as their mentor.
The Hampshire-raised trio continued to release country-pop songs whilst touring and playing festivals across the UK.

Remember Monday performed eighth in the running order, with their song, written by Danish songwriter Thomas Stengaard, who was among those who penned the 2013 Eurovision winning song Only Teardrops for Denmark.
The upbeat pop track was co-written by Billen Ted (Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan), Thomas Stengaard and Julie 'Kill J' Aagaard, with BRIT Award nominees Billen Ted having previously worked with Little Mix, Anne Marie and MNEK.

Remember Monday had previously stated that if they finished in the top five, everyone on their team would get "WTHJH" tattooed somewhere on their bodies.
