The Aquaman actress took to Instagram to share the news

Actress Amber Heard has revealed she has welcomed twins, a daughter named Agnes and a son named Ocean.

The 39-year-old star made the announcement on Mother's Day with a heartfelt Instagram post, sharing a photo of her newborns' feet.

"Mother's Day 2025 will be one I'll never forget," Heard wrote in her caption. "This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I've strived to build for years."

A spokesperson for Heard confirmed the news, telling People magazine: "Amber is delighted to welcome the twins and complete her family. Mama and babies are enjoying every minute."

The twins join big sister Oonagh Paige, who turned four in April, making Heard now a mother of three.

In her Instagram post, Heard shared the first glimpse of her twins with a photo showing only their tiny feet.

"Today I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang," she wrote. "My daughter Agnes and my son Ocean are keeping my hands (and my heart) full."

The Aquaman actress expressed her joy at expanding her family, writing: "When I had my first baby girl Oonagh four years ago, my world changed forever. I thought I couldn't possibly burst with more joy. Well, now I am bursting times three!!!"

People magazine exclusively reported in December 2024 that Heard was expecting another child, though at the time it wasn't revealed she was carrying twins.

Her representative said then that the star was "delighted" both for herself and daughter Oonagh.

According to Heard's spokesperson, four-year-old Oonagh is "happily running the show" with her new siblings.

The actress has been living a quieter life in Spain since 2022, following her high-profile legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Director Conor Allyn, who worked with Heard on the thriller In the Fire, told People in 2023 that Heard was "living her best life in Spain with her daughter and just finding happiness in that way."

He added that Heard is "such a dedicated mom" and "really good about making the time" for Oonagh.

News of Heard's pregnancy first emerged in December, though her representative noted at the time that it was "still quite early in the pregnancy" and they did not want to "go into much detail."

In her Mother's Day post, Heard opened up about her journey to motherhood, revealing she faced fertility challenges along the way.

"Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges has been the most humbling experience of my life," she wrote.

The actress added: "I am eternally grateful that I was able to choose this responsibly and thoughtfully."

This echoes sentiments Heard expressed when she first announced Oonagh's birth in 2021, when she explained she had "decided I wanted to have a child" four years prior and "wanted to do it on my own terms."

At that time, she wrote: "I hope we arrive at a point in which it's normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib."

Heard has not disclosed the paternity of her children, previously referring to herself as "the mom and the dad" in a 2023 Instagram post.

Following her legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp that ended in 2022, Heard moved overseas to live a quieter life in Madrid, Spain.

In a June 2022 interview with NBC News' Savannah Guthrie, Heard expressed her desire to focus on family life.

"I get to be a mom, like, full time, you know? Where I'm not having to juggle calls with lawyers," she said at the time.

The actress has largely retreated from the spotlight in recent years, maintaining a lower profile since the high-profile defamation trial.

In her Mother's Day post, Heard concluded with a message to other mothers: "To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you. Love always, A x."

It is not known if Heard is currently in a relationship.
