ITV received a flood of complaints after last weekend's Britain's Got Talent finale, with many disgruntled by judged Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
A total of 72 official complaints were made after fans took to social media in their hundreds to express their grievances about the two women's outfit choices.
On Wednesday, Ofcom revealed most of the complaints had been made regarding the two judges' dresses.
When contacted by GB News, the regulator confirmed: "The majority of complainants (72) related to Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon’s dresses.
Amanda Holden opted for a custom-made halter-neck gown
"Other complaints were about language used by Bruno Tonioli and Simon Cowell, the overall winner of the competition, and Joseph Charm’s act."
It's believed many of the 72 complaints about the dresses were over them being "too revealing for a family show," The Mirror reports.
Holden, 54, sported a a custom-made halter-neck gown, while Dixon, 46, wore a sequin, see-through jumpsuit.
On the night, several complained on X that the outfits had been inappropriate, but it isn't the first time Holden has drawn such complaints.
However, she seems unfazed by the backlash and went as far as to post a reel of her dress on Instagram along with the caption: "Direct all complaints to @ofcom.org.uk @bgt" along with a winking emoji.
In 2017, she was slammed for an outfit choice which became the most complained about television moment of the year, but the mother-of-two laughed off the comments.
She joked the reaction had been a "national crisis" as she told Closer magazine at the time: "I'm always asked about the Ofcom complaints, but every outfit on the show is checked before I leave my dressing room, so I'm never worried.
"I think people should have fun with fashion! I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together... It's all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about. It's been called another national crisis – but, oh no, I will not be covered up."
Last weekend's dress was designed with a very low front, accentuated by two signature pieces that drew attention to the plunging neckline.
The judge completed her look with her hair styled in a low bun. Outraged viewers made their opinions clear as they shared their annoyance.
One Instagram user commented: "Whilst this dress is beautiful and you look amazing, it's a bit much for 7pm viewing and a family show at that."
Another wrote: "A bit OTT for 7pm. It's about Britain's Got Talent – not you Amanda."
A third viewer stated: "Thought Britain's Got Talent is meant to be a family show…Shocking."
The criticism extended to X, where one user tweeted: "Amanda put them away, we've all seen this before."

However, many supporters defended Holden's appearance and praised her look. One fan wrote: "Amanda looks absolutely incredible in that white dress." Another commented: "Amanda looks stunning tonight!"
It seems viewers found several reasons to complain over the show, with many raging the result had been "a fix" after the winner was crowned as magician Harry Moulding.

Unfortunately for the long-running competition series, it's understood only 4.1 million viewers tuned in to watch the winner being crowned, giving the series finale the lowest ratings since its debut back in 2007.
The figures are a staggering one million views down from last year's finale. However, the numbers don't include those who streamed the final on ITVX or watched it later.
