The 69-year-old is leaving beIN SPORTS

Richard Keys has shared an emotional farewell message ahead of his final season of covering Premier League football for beIN Sports.

The veteran presenter took to social media before Sunday's final round of Premier League fixtures to reflect on an extraordinary broadcasting career spanning more than three decades.

Keys, who has worked alongside long-time colleague Andy Gray for years, posted a nostalgic message accompanied by a throwback image from the early stages of his television career.

"It's the end of an era," Keys wrote. "Not Spurs or W Ham. K&G host PL football for the last time today. 1992-2026.

"What a ride - 34 years, countless games & goals. We've seen them all."

The 69-year-old has spent the past 13 years living in Doha while fronting football coverage for beIN Sports across the Middle East and North Africa.

However, reports earlier this year claimed both Keys and Gray had been informed their contracts would not be renewed beyond the current campaign.

Gray, 70, is also expected to return to the UK after the pair spent more than a decade rebuilding their careers overseas following their controversial exits from Sky Sports in 2011.

The duo lost their roles after off-air comments about assistant referee Sian Massey-Ellis were leaked.

Gray was later dismissed following the emergence of footage showing inappropriate comments directed towards presenter Charlotte Jackson, while Keys resigned shortly afterwards.

Despite the scandal, the pair remained hugely prominent figures in football broadcasting through their work with beIN Sports, covering Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches across 24 countries.

They also fronted the network's coverage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

A spokesman for Keys previously confirmed the broadcaster had already decided to move on from beIN Sports months ago.

"Richard decided some months ago that, after 13 great years, the time had come to leave beIN with Andy," the spokesman said earlier this year.

Away from television, Keys has also attracted headlines over his personal life.

The presenter split from his wife Julia after 36 years of marriage following the emergence of his relationship with Lucie Rose in 2016.

Keys and Rose later married in a private ceremony in Devon in 2023 and are now expected to live together permanently in the UK following his departure from Qatar.
