The 20-year-old has already made his mark at Euro 2024 this summer

Jude Bellingham has been urged to be more of a 'team player', with Mikael Silvestre rebuking the England star ahead of their Euro 2024 clash with Denmark tonight.

The 20-year-old has already made his mark at this summer's tournament, scoring the only goal of the game as the Three Lions beat Serbia 1-0 on Sunday night.

Bellingham will be vital for England this summer and, on Thursday, will look to fire his side to back-to-back wins at the competition.

Many purred over the Real Madrid star's display earlier this week, with Rio Ferdinand, Cesc Fabregas and Alan Shearer all impressed.

Yet while Silvestre admires Bellingham's work rate, he feels the midfielder must be more of a 'team player' if the Three Lions are to go all the way.

"As much as I like Jude Bellingham, I feel like for some part of the game it was a one man show and you don't win tournaments like this," he told BettingExpert.com.

"I love him and I've been a fan since his Birmingham days but if he wants to help England progress, he needs to become more of a team player.

"And maybe be a bit less everywhere. More composed in his positioning.

"You have to make the other players around you better. That's the next step he has to take.

"You have to make the team better, not just yourself.

"But he's giving it 100 percent for sure and more. If everyone is up to his level, it's a different game."

Bellingham isn't the only top player England have at their disposal.

Harry Kane and Phil Foden were both quiet on Sunday, despite their stunning seasons for Bayern Munich and Manchester City respectively.

Jordan Pickford, Kyle Walker, John Stones and Kieran Trippier's experience will be vital as England target glory.

But Silvestre, who played for Arsenal and Manchester United during his playing days, feels Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice are equally as important.

"On the back of a solid season for both of them. Declan Rice being very impressive as the shield in front of the back four and penetrative runs going forward as well," he said.

"Bukayo Saka was a constant threat. Defenders are on the edge when he's running with the ball.

"He was the one who crossed the ball for Bellingham's goal. Massive deflection but yeah.

"Not a full 90 minutes but good enough for him to retain his place and continue."

Many are expecting England to breeze past Denmark tonight.

They're looking to win their first two group stage games since the European Championships started back in 1992.

Denmark pushed England hard at Euro 2024, with Kane winning the match late on via the penalty spot.

But Silvestre thinks the Three Lions will be too strong for tonight's opponents.

"Denmark will find it difficult to defend against England. They are at risk because of the personnel," he said.

"They lack a bit of pace and with Foden and Saka, they will be exposed. The runs of Bellingham as well.

"I think England should win that game. Not easy but they should win it."
