Prince William gave listeners a candid look at the Wales family's morning routine during a live appearance on Heart Breakfast this past Friday, broadcasting from the Isles of Scilly.
The 43-year-old Duke of Cornwall chatted with presenters Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden about the realities of getting Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight, ready for school alongside the Princess of Wales.
Asked by Ms Holden whether the royal school run resembles the chaos familiar to most parents, William responded with a laugh: "It can be. Depends."
The prince also confessed he is "definitely not a morning person."

William explained how the mornings can quickly descend into disorder when extracurricular activities enter the equation, describing negotiations over musical instruments and plans with friends.
He said: "If there's a guitar lesson, we go in the morning, a music lesson, you've got to get guitar on the car.
"'No, we're not taking the guitar, we're sitting back for school.' 'Are we boarding and we're not? Seeing friends? No, we're not.'
"So there's all that going on in the morning."

When Ms Holden enquired about snacking habits, the prince revealed that jam sandwiches are the family's preferred choice for eating on the move.
"There's a lot of jam sandwiches taken in the car, usually," William shared, adding that his youngest son tends to "leave jam fingerprints throughout the car, which is really helpful."
The interview also provided insight into a question that has long intrigued royal observers: where will the future king continue his education?
William let slip that his eldest son had begun boarding, telling his younger children: "Oh, Charlotte and Louis, because George is boarding last night, so Charlotte, Louis, if you're listening, make sure you're on time, please.

The comment has intensified discussion about George's schooling as he approaches his teenage years.
The young prince currently studies at Lambrook School in Berkshire alongside his siblings, though the preparatory school only educates pupils up to Year 8.
Lambrook's website indicates the school provides weekly and flexi-boarding arrangements for children aged 7 to 13, with pupils able to stay overnight anywhere from once a week to full-time.
The institution notes that most students participate in some boarding to prepare them for senior school life.
Speculation about George's next educational step has shifted over time.
The young royal was spotted visiting Eton College with William and Catherine in 2023, suggesting he might follow his father's path.
More recently, however, attention has turned to Marlborough College, where the Princess of Wales was educated. The co-educational school would offer the possibility of reuniting all three Wales children under one roof.
