The Newark MP said the shake up would be executed on 'day one' of a Reform administration
Robert Jenrick has said that Reform UK is a “radical, insurgent party” as he set out plans to radically shake up Whitehall.
Speaking to GB News’s Camilla Tominey, the Reform Economics Spokesman highlighted his party’s pledge to abolish the Cabinet Office.
Camilla asked: “Is scrapping the Cabinet Office, scrapping the position of Cabinet secretary, a great idea? How much will that cost? What will you replace it with?
“Well, it's going to be a saving, of course,” Mr Jenrick cut in, adding: “There are 11,000 people who work in the Cabinet Office.”
“Some will come to work in the new office of the Prime Minister. Many others, most others, will leave the service.
“Why are we doing this? Because reform is a radical insurgent party. It's going to do things differently.
“We don't want decisions being made by unelected civil servants, the Sue Gray’s of this world. We want them to be made by the Prime Minister.
“We're going to have a strong prime minister in Nigel Farage, and I want to make sure he's got the team around him so he can actually get things done and do things quickly because people want someone to grip this country.
“They think it's going down the drain at the moment, and they want it to be great,” the Reform MP said.
Mr Jenrick added that the cull would be executed on “day one” of a Reform administration.
