Detective Constable Marlon Caldwell, who is leading the investigation, said: “As a result of this man’s actions the victim now completely avoids Stratford Westfield shopping centre.

“No one should ever have to modify their behaviour because of the unwelcome actions of somebody else.

“Incidents of this nature are completely inappropriate and we are conducting a full and through investigation to bring the person responsible to justice."

The detective said he was asked for the public’s help in identifying the man on the CCTV image Scotland Yard has released.

“If you recognise him please get in touch with us," he said.
