British Gas launches new giveaway offering customers 12 months free electricity - can you apply?

British Gas customers have the chance to secure 12 months free electricity by taking part in the energy providers popular money saving scheme.
PeakSave rewards customers are saving money on their energy bills by making small changes to the time and dates they use electricity.
The provider is currently offering PeakSave Gold Sundays and Super Saturdays rewards scheme in alliance with Team GB and Paralympics GB at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
From July 28 until September 8, customers can get half-price electricity from 9am to 5pm - this is three more extra hours than their usual PeakSaver Sundays scheme.
Not only can PeakSavers get half price electricity during these hours, British Gas is offering the chance to win 12 months free electricity as well as a once in life time experience.
Those who enter into the give away will also have the chance to watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics on their sofa with Paralympic superhero Libby Clegg.

To enter the draw, PeakSavers must go on the British Gas website to fill out the form. To win, savers must share their best secret saving techniques that help them make the best use of half price electricity.
British Gas will only accept one entry per PeakSaver.
To apply, customers will need their British Gas account number, email address and contact number.
How to become a PeakSaver?
To save money with PeakSave Gold Sundays and Super Saturdays, Britons will need to be a British Gas customer, have a smart electricity meter and register for the PeakSave scheme.
To be part of the PeakSave scheme, customers must fill out a form on the British Gas website.
Customers should check if they have the right meter (a smart meter that makes PeakSave work) before registering. British Gas will alert customers by email within 7-10 days if they're good to go.
There is no need for savers to opt into each one as PeakSavers are automatically included.
If they supply someone's electricity but they don’t have a smart meter, they should still fill in their details.
The giveaway is open until September 2.
The winning PeakSaver will be notified by September 4 via email or phone.
British Gas has paid over £11million to more than 600,000 customers taking part in the scheme.
