Robbie Williams' mother-in-law - Gwen Field - has been given the heartbreaking news that her cervical cancer has returned, with his wife Ayda Field breaking down as she spoke about the news.
The 45-year-old revealed today that her mum's cancer has returned, just months after receiving the devastating news and was visibly emotional when discussing the news.
"This is a really tough thing for me to talk about," Field said, with her mum also already being a breast cancer survivor.
The TV personality, who resides in London with her husband, spoke candidly about the family's struggle to process the diagnosis privately.
Despite the difficult news, Field shared her mother's wish for a positive narrative and told the Loose Women: "My mother said, 'I so want you to tell this story, I just want to make sure it's positive. I am going to do my best and I am going to make this positive.'"
Field's determination to honour her mother's request was evident as she spoke.
The actress and TV personality emphasised the strength and bravery her mum has shown throughout this challenging time.
"This is a battle," she later wrote on social media. "And what my mother has lost in hair and weight, she has more than gained in strength and bravery."
This is not Gwen's first battle with cancer as in 2020, Field revealed on Williiams' podcast - At Home With the Williamses - that her mother had been diagnosed with an aggressive cervical tumour.
"It had spread outside the cervix," she explained at the time. "Alongside her Parkinson's and her lupus was this cancer battle."

Speaking about the diagnosis on her Instagram, she penned: "There have been many moments of deep sadness. And yet, also moments of profound beauty and joy, in very unexpected ways."
The TV star expressed her gratitude for her mother's resilience, calling her a "warrior mummy showing me the way".
