Liam Payne, who died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, reportedly had traces of multiple drugs in his system, including "pink cocaine", Argentinian media has claimed.
The One Direction star died at the age of 31 after plunging to his death at the CasaSur hotel last Wednesday.
Authorities in Argentina are now investigating the case as an "inconclusive death".
Police are said to be seeking the identity of the dealer who allegedly provided the substances that night.
It is understood that a partial autopsy found traces of cocaine, benzodiazepine, crack cocaine and "pink cocaine" which is a combination of methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA.
"A partial autopsy found that the former One Direction singer, who died at 31, had multiple substances in his system when he fell to his death from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16," ABC reports.
"Those substances included 'pink cocaine' - a recreational drug that typically is a mix of several drugs including methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others – as well as cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack."
According to news reports, an aluminium pipe - often used for smoking crack cocaine - was discovered in his hotel room, and it appeared to be improvised.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Payne suffered “internal and external” hemorrhages and multiple traumatic injuries, according to a preliminary autopsy.
The singer's body is expected to remain in Argentina until the autopsy is complete.
Once the investigation is finished, the singer's remains will be handed over to his relatives and repatriated to England, according to local media reports.
Following the shock news of his death this week, reports had circulated that he was “acting erratically'” in the hotel - with staff calling 911 for help.
The transcript of a 911 call made by hotel staff, revealed the hotel manager told emergency services: "We have a guest who’s off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room.
“We need someone to come."
Payne's sudden passing has led to a wave of tributes from family, friends, and devastated fans.
